Check-ups & prevention

Twice a year we check your teeth and gums — looking for decay, assessing gum health, and tracking anything that’s changing. We take X-rays where they’ll tell us something useful, usually every couple of years rather than routinely.

We often combine the check-up with a clean: removing tartar and polishing. That’s not just cosmetic. Tartar is exactly where gum inflammation starts.

About 20 minutes. Longer with a clean.

Fillings

We fill cavities with composite, a tooth-coloured resin matched to your own shade. We remove the decayed part, build the filling up in layers, and shape it until you can bite normally on it.

We’ll usually numb the area first. If you’d rather go without, that’s often possible — just say.

20 to 45 minutes depending on size.

Root canal treatment

When the nerve inside a tooth becomes infected, it can hurt a great deal. Root canal treatment removes the infected nerve, cleans out the canals and seals them. The tooth stays where it is.

It has a terrible reputation it mostly doesn’t deserve — with proper anaesthetic you feel very little during it. What people find hard is the length: expect one or two appointments of around an hour.

60 to 90 minutes per appointment.

Crowns, bridges and inlays

When there’s too little tooth left for a filling, we make a crown — a cap that fits over what remains. If a tooth is missing, a bridge can close the gap using the neighbouring teeth for support. An inlay sits between the two: a custom-made filling for a larger cavity.

We take an impression or a digital scan, and you’ll have a temporary while the final piece is made.

Two appointments,

usually about two weeks apart.

Dentures

A full or partial denture replaces teeth that are no longer there. We work out together what suits your situation, and work with a dental laboratory to make it.

If a denture you already have is uncomfortable, presses, or comes loose — come in. That’s often fixable with an adjustment.

Gum treatment

Gums that bleed when you brush aren’t normal, however common it is. It’s usually the first sign of inflammation, and if that persists the bone around the tooth slowly recedes. That part doesn’t grow back.

We measure the pockets around your teeth, clean thoroughly below the gum line, and show you how to keep those spots clean yourself. Then we check whether the inflammation has settled.

Cosmetic dentistry

Veneers are thin shells of composite or porcelain bonded to the front of a tooth, correcting shape, colour, or a chipped corner.

Whitening lightens discoloured teeth using professional gel in custom-made trays, which protects your gums and keeps the result even.

Clear aligners straighten teeth step by step. You wear a series of thin, clear trays made to fit you, and you take them out to eat and brush. Dentist Hana Gulmohamad has completed a dedicated course in this treatment.

All three start with a conversation: what exactly would you like to be different, and what’s realistic in your case? That’s a fairer place to start than afterwards.
