We’ll explain how the Dutch system works
Dutch dental care doesn’t work like it does in most countries. Adults pay for routine treatment themselves unless they have additional insurance, prices are set nationally so every dentist charges the same, and you register with one practice rather than shopping around.
None of that is obvious when you’ve just arrived. Ask us — we explain it as often as we clean teeth.

Are you taking on new patients?
Yes, Tandartspraktijk Shiny Smile in Voorburg is accepting new patients.
You register online with just your contact details (no BSN, no medical history) and we call you within one working day to arrange your first appointment
Do you have English-speaking dentists?
Yes. Your whole appointment can be in English, from the phone call to the treatment itself, you won't need to bring anyone to translate.
We also treat patients in Dutch, Arabic, Kurdish (Sorani), Urdu and Farsi. Arabic and Kurdish you can speak with the dentist herself, not only at the front desk.
Can I book an appointment online?
You can request an appointment online. That isn't a confirmed booking yet: your request reaches us and we call you on the next working day to agree a time together.

Can I walk in without an appointment?
No, we work by appointment only. That's exactly why we can take our time with whoever is in the chair. If you're in pain, call us! We keep room free every day for that.
I'm nervous, and I haven't been in years. Can I still come?
Yes, and you're far from the only one. We'll take a calm look at where things stand and agree a plan that's manageable. Nobody here will comment on how long it's been, it doesn't help your teeth.
Do you do cosmetic dentistry as well?
Yes. Alongside general dentistry we do veneers, crowns and bridges, and teeth whitening. Our dentist Hana Gulmohamad holds a Master's in cosmetic dentistry, so that work stays in-house.
We also treat teeth grinding, and a number of cosmetic injectable treatments are available. What makes sense in your case is something we talk through in a consultation first, you're not committed to anything.
